TESDA training fair offers more opportunities for Sibugaynons

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently conducted a training fair in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, creating a way for individuals to explore Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs offered by both Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and TESDA Training Institutes (TTIs).

Various TVIs and TTIs from the province participated to facilitate applications for a wide range of approved TVET qualifications. The initiative aims to empower individuals by equipping them with in-demand skills and enhancing their opportunities for employment.

Joven Estolatan, an entrepreneur and secondary school teacher, shared his story, graduating with a certification in hotel and restaurant services from a TESDA-administered school. Carrying this experience, he passed the teacher's licensure examination and eventually secured a position in DepEd.

“Learn new trends to enhance your skills and never give up on trials that may come your way because they will be the stepping stones to grow beyond fears and doubts," Estolatan shared.

TESDA Provincial Director Alan Bacatan underscored the significance of the trade fair, emphasizing that it welcomes everyone, and provides equal opportunities for those seeking vocational training.

"The government programs, such as this trade fair, are open to all; we give an equal chance to everybody," Bacatan stated.

The fair served as a platform to access free training and the opportunity to earn national certificates in different fields such as masonry, carpentry, and driving, among others. Aside from empowering participants with skills and knowledge, the fair also acted as a gateway to employment prospects and livelihood opportunities.

The initiative reflects TESDA's commitment to providing opportunities for skills development for individuals in Zamboanga Sibugay. TESDA's efforts are not just about training individuals but about transforming lives and opening doors to promising futures. (NBE/EDT/RBI/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
