BANGUED, Abra(PIA) -- Four farmers associations (FAs) in the capital town received  various farm inputs under the High Value Crop Development Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Governor Dominic Valera, Bangued Mayor Mila Valera, Agriculture Program Coordinating Officer Rosemarie Tesoro, and Bangued Sangguniang Bayang Committee Chairperson on Agriculture Serafin Alzate led the turn over of   farm implements that include 45 rolls of black nets, 10 rolls of pipes and two plastics sheets.

Recipients are  the  Sirmata ti Cabuloan FA, Palao Neighborhood Association, Ubbog-Lipcan Farmers Association and Sta. Rosa Producers’ Association.

Tesoro said that the agriculture intervention was  a part of the rehabilitation efforts for farmers affected by super typhoon Egay last  year.

“Dakkel a yaman mi ta mausar mi dagitoy nga agbunubon ti irik, aglalo ta nagadu ti nadadael ng a mula mi idi napalabas nga bagyo, isu nga yamanen mi dagitoy ta makasubbot kamin ti imula mi,”  Palao Neighborhood Assosication President Magdalena Lu said.

“Ipalagip ko dagiti farmers’ sssocation nga saan pay nakapa-accredit ta agpa-accredit kayo tapnu makaawat kayo met ti tulong kas iti daytoy manipud iti gobierno [I would like to remind farmers’ associations especially those who are not yet accredited, to finish your accreditation to receive an assistance like this also from the government],” she said.

The governor  also encouraged the farmers to continuously commit themselves in agriculture as the current administration focuses in providing more farm inputs in the locality.

“Adda met tulong nga mayted kadakayo ngem usarenyo ti pigsa ken gaget yo tapno agtultuloy a sumayaat ti panagbiagyo [There is assistance given to you, but you need to use your strength and your diligence so that your life will improve],” he  stressed. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
