LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) -- Benguet athletes who participated in the 2023 Batang Pinoy and Philippine National Games were recognized during an awarding ceremony here on  February 20, 2024.
 
Benguet Representative Eric Yap iniated and  hosted  the  giving certificates of recognition and cash incentives to at least 60 winning athletes and coaches to celebrate their outstanding performances during the national competitions  held in December 2023.

Benguet athletes  clenched three gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals during the 2023 Batang Pinoy,  and  five gold, ten silver, and five bronze medals in the 2023 Philippine National Games.Yap thanked the athletes and coaches for bringing honor to the province through their hard work and dedication.

"To our athletes, keep your discipline, perseverance, faith, and resilience as it shall serve you beyond your playing years. Remember that every success is the sum of all your hardwork, determination, and efforts," Yap stated.
 
The lawmaker also assured his continued support for the athletes and youth of Benguet.
 
“Maraming pasasalamat po kasi it wasn't an easy road,  and considering that combat sports is not easy, losing weights and training,” said coach Karn Jariya Amado.
