CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The city government of Calapan led by Mayor Malou F. Morillo has recently brought various government services closer to residents of Barangay Canubing II.
The residents managed to avail the services offered by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine National Police and and the Department of Justice – Parole and Probation Administration.
According to Morillo, this program aims to provide basic services from various national government agencies to barangay residents who may have difficulty accessing physical service centers.
“Hindi na kailangang bumyahe ng malayo dahil nasa barangay nila ang iba't ibang departamento para magbigay ng basic services tulad ng health care and free medicine, legal at social services pagpaparehistro, pagbabayad ng buwis, at mga serbisyo para sa senior citizens, at persons with disabilities,
[There is no need to travel far because different departments are here to provide basic services such as health care and free medicine, legal and social services registration, tax payment, and services for senior citizens, and persons with disabilities,”] said Morillo.
In addition, the barangay was provided with 10 toilet bowls which the residents requested to enable them to construct proper toilets in their community.
Along with the services, there was also a sectoral consultation, which is a way to hear the needs, complaints, and concerns of different sectors in the barangay. (GATS/PIA MIMAROPA)
