In addition to the KP orientation, the training also focused on preparing the barangay secretaries for the upcoming LTIA, initially scheduled from March 1 to 8.
The LTIA is a performance-based incentive system designed to motivate and recognize the hard work and dedication of the Lupong Tagapamayapa in settling disputes at the barangay level. The assessment aims to identify outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa who have demonstrated exceptional performance in resolving conflicts and grant them incentives to further encourage their efforts.
City Local Government Operations Officer Arnel O. Alvarez emphasized the importance of capacity building for local government units and stressed that empowering our barangay secretaries with the right knowledge and skills is essential to the efficient functioning of our local governance system. He added that by ensuring they are well-versed in the KP procedures and prepared for the LTIA, they are not only equipping them for success but also contributing to the overall development and peace within the community.
The coaching session concluded with a positive response from the barangay secretaries, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge.
This capacity-building initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of the KP system and the overall performance of the barangay secretaries in Isabela City. (EDT/NDR/PIA BASILAN with reports from DILG - Isabela City)
