CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA) -- This year’s Kalinga Treasures trade fair during the 29th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 5th Bodong Festival, was a big success with total sales of P21.3 million.
Benita B. Mangadap of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Kalinga reported that the sales this year is 28 percent higher than the sales last year. More than 100 exhibitors joined in the trade fair held from February 5 to 17 at Bulano Centro here.
Topping the sales record is furniture and furnishing sector with P7,302,670.00, followed by wearables and fashion accessories that registered P3,225,933.00.
Processed food and gifts and home decors recorded P1,912,552.00 and P1,758,040.00, respectively.
Ornamental plants generated P358,779.00 while DTI’s special program booths on CARP, Negosyo Center, KAPATID Mentor ME and Youth Entrepreneurial Program accumulated P329,109.00. Other services sector primarily on real estate contributed P6,440,000.00.
The figures included cash sales and booked orders.
