ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, (PIA)- The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) has inaugurated a satellite office at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) provincial office in Zamboanga del Sur.
The local NLRC office will give Zamboangueños easy access to its services and is expected to expedite prompt resolution of labor and management disputes.
The inauguration followed the formalization of collaboration between the NLRC and DOLE through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in Pagadian City.
NLRC is a quasi-judicial body tasked to promote and maintain industrial peace by resolving labor and management disputes in the fairest, quickest, least expensive, and most effective way possible. This includes cases involving both local and overseas workers through compulsory arbitration and alternate modes of dispute resolution.
One of the significant advantages of this development is the agency's ability to address complaints from employees who no longer maintain an employer-employee relationship and have experienced illegal dismissal.

Lawyer Lizanilla J. Amaraga, executive labor arbiter of NLRC-9, highlighted the challenges faced by aggrieved workers who previously had to endure an eight to ten-hour travel to reach the NLRC office in Zamboanga City, particularly when satellite offices were not yet established in the provinces. Amaraga expressed gratitude for the partnership with DOLE and emphasized that DOLE's permission to operate the satellite office in the province is pivotal in extending its reach and services.
For individuals with complaints, the NLCR-9 satellite office in Zamboanga del Sur is located at the Second Floor, Limbo Building, F Roxas Street in Pagadian City. (NBE/EDT/HTB/PIA9-Zamboanga del Sur)
