Sen. Bong Go urges Pangasinan youths to embrace education, public service

DAGUPAN CITY, Feb. 26 (PIA) -- Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go encouraged about 2,000 students from Panpacific University in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan to embrace education and public service as essential components for community development and personal growth during the university’s “Leaders’ Summit” on the second day of their week-long foundation anniversary from February 21-23.

As he delivered an inspirational message, Go highlighted the vital role of education, that equips learners with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values. This prepares them to make positive contributions to their communities and country through public service.

“Your parents have worked tirelessly to send you to school. In return, study hard to make them proud and happy,” he said to the students at the university’s Events Center.

Also, he pledged to offer scholarships to the top 100 students in need at Panpacific University.

Meanwhile, Go stressed that public service is more than just performing good deeds; it includes putting others before oneself and acknowledging what they can contribute and accomplish.

He further adds the essence of public service lies in the intention to serve others and make a meaningful impact, whether on a small scale within local communities or on a larger scale within society.

“You, young people, are the hope or future of this country. There is only one secret: love your fellow Filipinos and your country and prioritize the welfare of the poor and the country,” Go said.
