“This free TDC is the first in the region, and we are very proud that this happened in Ipil town and in my district,” said Jose Maria Gonzales, LTO district officer.
Gonzales highlighted the practical benefits of the program, stating that it equips students with essential knowledge that they will need when they apply for student driving permits.
“This effort not only equips the students with essential knowledge for a seamless student permit application but serves as an avenue for promoting road safety awareness as well,” the LTO chief said.
Gonzales said the initiative responds to the recent call of LTO Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II to conduct outreach programs offering free TDCs as a form of gratitude to the Filipino people for their support to the LTO.
TDC is one of the major requirements for those applying for student driving permits, typically costing around P1,500 in driving schools. The free TDC provided significant financial relief to students and their families.
“It's a big help on our part as students and for our parents, wala na kaming babayaran,” said Allan, one of the studentof the free TDC.
Gonzales encouraged other schools in the province to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing the importance of instilling road safety awareness among students, especially in areas with high incidents of road crashes like Ipil town.
