TUBURAN, Cebu (PIA) -- The municipal government here showcased the success of the Tuburan Coffee Farm, including the developments and contributions it has provided to the municipality, during the recent briefing of the Cebu Association of City and Municipal Public Information Officers (CAOCAMPIO).
Since it was established in 2012, the success of the coffee farm has put Tuburan in the spotlight as the supplier of the first homegrown coffee brand in Cebu.
Tuburan Mayor Democrito "Aljun" Diamante gave the CAOCAMPIO members a tour of the agri-facility, while sharing the story behind the creation of the Tuburan coffee.
Tuburan Coffee Farm started producing and selling their coffee products in 2018.
The farm operates according to good standards of farming practices and uses organic farm products with the goal of becoming an organic farm.
“Naka-focus ko karon sa agriculture, himuon nako ang Tuburan nga organic town in the next five years,”Diamante said.

The coffee farm has received several recognitions, one of which is the accreditation from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) to become a learning site and one of the farm school establishments of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The farm is also the only accredited supplier of seedlings by the Bureau of Plant and Industry (BPI) in Cebu province.
Diamante highlighted the continued success of Tuburan Coffee, including its positive contributions to the development of agri-tourism in the town, as well as the livelihood programs and opportunities it provided to the local farmers and workers.
