Tuguegarao City breaks ground for socialized housing projects

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) -- First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, together with Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba and Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que led the ceremonial groundbreaking of two housing projects under the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

The ground-breaking ceremony to symbolically start the construction of a mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings that will provide  189 housing units was held in conjunction with the LAB for ALL Cagayan Caravan at the Cagayan Coliseum on February 27.

The First Lady said 4PH is one of the flagship programs of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to provide homeless families with affordable and resilient houses.

She also said the program aims to address the housing shortage in the country, particularly for the needy.

Ting-Que said the socialized housing program, which will rise in Barangay Cataggaman Nuevo, aims to construct vertical housing shelters in close proximity to the target beneficiaries' sources of income, service facilities, and amenities.

Ting-Que said that, through the implementation of the socialized housing program, it is expected that there will be improved housing conditions and increased economic opportunities.

“This is a priority project of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jerry Acuzar, as well as the LGU for the people,” she said earlier during a coordination meeting held last year.

Ting-Que also expressed her gratitude to the first lady for the conduct of LAB for the ALL caravan in Tuguegarao City.

“Salamat po sa pagdadala at paglalapit ng iba’t-ibang klaseng serbisyo para sa aming mga kababayan dito sa Tuguegarao at Cagayan (Thank you for bringing different kinds of services for our constituents here in Tuguegarao City and in Cagayan, as a whole.),” the mayor said. (OTB/MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
