DSWD calls for  whole of nation approach in delivery of social services

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) calls for a stronger partnership in the delivery of enhanced social services in the region under the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.


DSWD Undersecretary Monina Josefina “Pinky” Romualdez made the call in her keynote message during the DSWD’s  73rd anniversary program and awarding ceremony for the agency’s partners in Cordillera. 


She commended the DSWD Field Office CAR for being in the forefront of disaster response operations in a region prone to both natural, and human induced hazards, as she pushed for a whole of nation approach to achieve shared goals for the vulnerable sectors.

“Your dedicated team has also gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure immediate psycho-social, and other social protection interventions to those in need, hence it is only fitting to commend your outstanding performance and contributions to the department,” Romualdez said.


“As we embrace the new era of governance under the Bagong Pilipinas of the Marcos Administration, I urge everyone to work together in a whole of nation approach, and a whole of society approach to provide better opportunities for the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable sectors,” she said. 


Romualdez assured that the DSWD under the leadership of Secretary Rex Gatchalian, will continue to support the good endeavors of the DSWD-CAR, and its partners and stakeholders to ensure sustainable development in the region.

In the same event, DSWD-CAR recognized its outstanding volunteers, donors and partners of in the delivery of social welfare and development programs and services in the region through the  “Iyaman” and Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan or “Panata Ko sa Bayan” awards. 


DSWD-CAR officer in charge regional director Enrique Gascon Jr., congratulated the awardees for their commitment and support to  DSWD.
