CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - Forty-two of the 258 registered jobseekers were hired-on-the-spot during the province-sponsored job fair in Isabela.

The provincial government, through the Public Employment Service Office and in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), conducted the said activity at the Queen isabela Park, Capitol Compound, City of Ilagan, Isabela aimed at helping Isabeleño jobseekers to be employed.

PESO Isabela Manager Cecilia Claire Reyes said there were total of 823 job vacancies and 218 positions registered from the 37 participating employers during the fair. 

Reyes said the newly-hired job applicants expressed their thanks to the provincial government for the employment opportunity given to them.

Labor Sector Representative to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Even Jay Diaz acknowledged the commitment of Gov. Rodito albano III and Vice Gov. Faustino G. Dy III for their all out support in conducting the job fair.

“Ang programang ito ay dulot ng pagsisikap ng ating mahal na Governor at Vice Governor na maghikayat ng mga investor at establishment dito sa lalawigan ng Isabela para lalo pa nating mapatibay ang economic development, and of course para maka-generate pa tayo ng mas maraming trabaho,”  Diaz said.

Meanwhile, DOLE Isabela Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Froctoso Agustin said the province’s employment program in partnership with their office is a manifestation and commitment of the government to improve the economy of the province.

Agustin said that their office will fully support the future employment programs and activities of the provincial government to increase the employment rate in the province. (MGE/PIA Isabela)
