Commission on Population and Development-CAR  recognizes partners for their unwavering support

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - -The Commission on Population and Development – Cordillera, in celebration of the CPD’s 73rd Anniversary   gave recognition  to  its partners  for their  unwavering support in the delivery of population and development (PopDev) programs and services in the region.


CPD – CAR Regional Director Cecile Basawil led the awarding of the plaque of recognition to the awardees during the “Katuwang sa Kaunlarang Pantao” recognition, and regional celebration at the Prince Plaza Hotel, Baguio City on February 28.


The Cordillera regional offices of the National Economic and Development Authority and Department of Health were awarded the “Gabay” Award,  for being the program leaders that provides guidance and stewardship of  the regional popdev strategies.

Recipients of the “Kaagapay” Award for being long – term allies in the in the implementation of key strategies for PopDev are the regional offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development,the Department of Education,  the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, and the Zuellig Foundation.

 
The University of the Cordilleras, and the regional offices of the Cooperative Development Authority, the Agricultural Training Institute, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority received the CPD – CAR’s “Katuwang” Award for being valuable partners in  popdev advocacy.
 
Basawil expressed gratitude  to the awardees,  and called for  continuing partnership in delivering population and development programs and services in communities in the region.
 

“Together, we have tackled complex issues related to population growth, demographic shifts, and sustainable development with unwavering determination. By pooling our resources, expertise, and insights, we have developed holistic solutions that have the potential to transform lives and communities for the better,” Basawil  said.
 
“But our journey does not end here. As we celebrate this momentous occasion, let us also reaffirm our commitment to continue working hand in hand to ensure that every Cordilleran can feel the progress that we are attaining. Let us remain steadfast in our resolve to leave no stone unturned in our quest for a brighter, more equitable future for all,” she added.


During the event, the CPD – CAR entered into a new partnership with the CDA – CAR and the Benguet State University and Community Multipurpose Cooperative in  developing and pursuing population and development strategies. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
