BALER, Aurora (PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a farm-to-market road (FMR) in Dingalan, Aurora.
About P11.94 million was allocated by the Department of Agriculture from the 2023 national budget for the two-lane infrastructure at barangay Butas na Bato.
DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the project includes concreting of a 0.11 kilometer section of a rural access road measuring 5.0 meters wide.
“It incorporated a reinforced concrete box culvert with headwalls to mitigate erosion and stone masonry for slope protection,” he explained.
The road will facilitate agricultural transportation, improve movement of commodities such as rice, and address mobility challenges within the community.
Andal added that the project not only enhances local economic activities but also improves accessibility for farmers and traders.
Tourism likewise benefits from the Butas na Bato FMR as the town is a known destination in Central Luzon due to its accessibility and popularity among riders. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
