QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Good news! The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Quezon City Local Government recently launched ‘Project Green Camp’ at Camp Karingal.
QCPD chief PBGen Redrico A. Maranan and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the launching and tree planting activity.

“I am proud that the Quezon City police took the lead in having this kind of initiative that proves your commitment to the welfare of QCitizens.”
Meanwhile, QCPD chief Maranan said that they aim to expand the project further.
"As part of the project, a total of 526 solar lights have already been installed throughout Camp Karingal and its police stations, in addition to the establishment of 158 urban gardens, 147 waste segregation bins, and 103 rainwater catchers. However, our efforts will not stop here, we aim to expand and add more.”
The launching was also highlighted by the oath-taking of 166 QCPD ‘Green Cops,’ the ceremonial turnover of 400 fruit-bearing tree saplings, along with the signing of a pledge of commitment in support to the "One Million Tree Initiative" of the QC local government unit, and the camp tour showcasing the urban gardens of different units of QCPD.
