IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment-Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office (DOLE-ZSFO) recently deployed 30 interns under the Government Internship Program (GIP), nurturing the talents and potential of these young professionals.
The beneficiaries will embark on a six-month internship that will enrich their careers and also contribute to enhancing public service in various government agencies that they will be assigned to.
Noraida Abdulatip, one of the beneficiaries from Kabasalan town, expressed her gratitude for the program and the opportunity given to her. She will be assigned to the LANDBANK Ipil branch and will be tasked with doing clerical and administrative work.
"I am thankful for the opportunity because it is a great help not just financially but also in terms of experience. GIP will help me gain valuable experience that I can use in my future endeavors," Abdulatip said.
GIP is a flagship program of DOLE designed to engage young workers in serving the public within government agencies. The qualified applicants are given the opportunity to work in different fields and learn about work ethics and professionalism, providing them with a foundation for future career growth.
Interns will gain not only learning and experience but also receive a daily commensurate wage based on the minimum wage in the region and will benefit from GSIS insurance coverage, providing protection in the event of work-related emergencies.
Elamsalih Ungad, DOLE ZSFO provincial chief, emphasized the significance of the program in terms of skills and knowledge acquisition, as well as the cultivation of a culture of public service and professionalism among the beneficiaries. He also underscored GIP's pivotal role in shaping the labor force of the province and contributing to the delivery of exemplary public service.
GIP provides exposure and also imparts hands-on experience in the government sector, preparing participants for their intended careers.
