Army spearheads 'Bugwakan' clean-up drive in Sirawai town

The "Tagapagtanggol" troopers of the 42nd Infantry Battalion spearheaded a clean-up drive activity along the shore of Bugwakan Boulevard, San Vicente, Sirawai town.

The community were in full support to the activity which aims "to bring back the beauty of the Boulevard with its fine sand shore line that would attract guests to visit again the beautiful scenery of Bugwakan Boulevard of Sirawai."

The activity also hopes to gather the different sectors of the community to show the “Bayanihan Culture” of the Filipino people.

It was a collaborative effort of different government and non-government organizations inluding the local government unit of Sirawai, its barangay officials, PNP, BFP, iCAN, KKDAT, Alpha Khapa Rho, KRK, Tyro Gyn Phi, Tau Gamma Phi and Alpha Sigma Phi Omega. Emmanuel Dalman Taghoy is the Information Center Manager of the Zamboanga del Norte Information Center and Executive Assistant for Regional Operations of the Philippine Information Agency IX, the country’s chief information arm under the Office of the President. PIA’s expertise is development communication.

As the InfoCen Manager for Zamboanga del Norte, he represents PIA in inter-agency meetings and other activities, providing media coverage and other technical assistance to partner agencies.

Having been trained locally and abroad, he serves as lecturer on journalism, public and media relations, social media handling and promotion, among others.
