President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the second day of the Meeting on Convergence Initiatives for Masagana Rice Industry Development Program (MRIDP) or the Rice Industry Convergence Workshop.

The meeting aims to foster cooperation, collaboration, and convergence among agencies in the whole rice value chain. It will also serve as a platform to discuss the immediate activities necessary for the successful implementation of the MRIDP.

President Marcos said recently that his administration would introduce the use of biofertilizers to farmers to reduce their dependence on expensive and imported petroleum-based fertilizers. Biofertilizers are natural fertilizers consisting of living microorganisms. Its use supports the growth of plants by increasing the nutrient supply in soils.
