CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal --The Armed Forces of the Philippines has deployed several Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response units to the affected areas of the Taal volcano’s eruption.
Per reports, response units from the Army’s 2nd Infantry Jungle Fighter Division, Philippine Air Force and Philippine Coast Guard were deployed through the Joint Task Group Taal to conduct HADR missions across the area of Batangas following the recent phreatomagmatic eruption of Taal which affected areas across Batangas.
According to BGen Rommel K Tello, Assistant Division Commander of 2ID and the Commander of Joint Task Group Taal, 939 families from the Municipalities of Agoncillo and Laurel have already been evacuated.
“We are in constant coordination with the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and the local government units to support the evacuation efforts being conducted across the affected areas.”

We are one with all the levels of government and various agencies in helping our fellowmen get through this disaster and may our efforts reiterate our intent to fulfill our duty of being servants of the people,” ended Tello.
