LAUREL, Batangas --Joint Task Group Taal and the Municipal Social Welfare & Development Office of Laurel, Batangas worked hand in hand on distribution of relief goods for Taal Volcano affected residents of Laurel, Batangas 06 July, 2021 at around 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
Transportation and manpower assistance were provided by the Disaster Response Teams of Joint Task Group Taal to dispatch food support packages from the municipal hub to evacuation centers.
An estimated total of 1,992 affected individuals of 564 families from barangays of San Gabriel, Santa Maria, San Gregorio, Ticub, Paliparan, As-Is, and Molinete were the beneficiaries of the undertaking.
Joint Task Group Taal is comprised of different forces coming from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine National Police.
In his statement, BGen Rommel K Tello PA, Commander of the AFP Joint Task Group Taal said that the task group was activated specifically to supervise the disaster response efforts of the AFP in areas affected nearby Taal Volcano. The Disaster Response Units organized by the AFP in coordination with PCG, BFP and PNP have been deployed on the ground to provide timely assistance to the residents affected by Taal Volcano.
“These response teams were initiated purposely for the benefit of the affected communities which are vulnerable to the unfortunate catastrophe which the impending eruption of Taal Volcano may bring”, BGen Tello added.
