PASAY CITY -- Two consecutive arrivals of COVID-19 vaccine importations were expeditiously facilitated by Bureau of Customs-NAIA (BOC-NAIA), consisting of 2.028m doses of AstraZeneca and 132,200 doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine on July 9, 2021.
The importation of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Terminal 3 at around 4:15pm via Flight No. EK332 from Sweden, followed by the importation of Sputnik V vaccine which arrived at the same terminal at around 10:30pm via Flight No. QR928.
Both shipments underwent customs pre-clearance processes prior their arrival and were facilitated through NAIA One Stop Shop. Upon arrival, the Covid-19 vaccines were immediately underguarded by BOC Covax Special Handling Team to Pharmaserv Cold Storage Facility in Marikina City.
Additional 37,800 doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine are set to arrive in NAIA at around 10:30 PM on July 10, 2021.
To date, the Bureau of Customs has facilitated a total of 20,537,360 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
The Bureau of Customs-NAIA headed by District Collector Carmelita Talusan, in compliance with the directive of Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, will continue to support the government’s COVID-19 inoculation program and shall actively coordinate with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) for the effective and efficient facilitation of more time-sensitive Covid-19 vaccines arriving in the country.
