PASAY CITY -- The Philippines, on Saturday, July 17, received another 1,606,600 doses of the single-shot COVID-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson (J&J).
The first batch of the American-made vaccines consisting of 1,606,600 doses arrived on Friday, July 16.
The latest shipment is the second batch of the 3,213,200 J&J doses donated by the United States government to the Philippines through the World Health Organization-led COVAX Facility.
Receiving the vaccines at the NAIA were Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, National Economic and Development Secretary Karl Chua, UNICEF Nutrition Manager Alice Nkoroi, US Embassy in the Philippines Chargé d'Affaires John C. Law, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Assistant Secretary and chief of staff Atty. Wilben M. Mayor, DOH Director Dr. Soledad Andronio, and National Task Force Against COVID-19 adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa,
