CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 continues to monitor the situation of the areas under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to ensure that all affected families will receive the necessary assistance.
DSWD-10 Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga has met Mayor Oscar Moreno of Cagayan de Oro City and Mayor Erick Cañosa of Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental for the distribution of family food packs and other possible provision of food and non-food items.
The Local Government of Gingoog City has received 15,000 family food packs (10,000 from DSWD Field Office 11 and 5,000 from DSWD Field Office 10).
Meanwhile, the Local Government of Cagayan de Oro has submitted the list of families for relief assistance. Also, Cagayan de Oro City LGU is now conducting family data profiling for the aid.
Both local government units are closely coordinating with DSWD Field Office 10 and other national government agencies for assistance to the affected families.
The DSWD Field Office 10 has been coordinating with the concerned LGUs to find out the number of families affected by the ECQ areas and determine if they are qualified to receive aid from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
AICS provides medical, educational, burial, transportation, food, and non-food assistance in the form of outright cash to support the recovery of individuals and families suffering from an unexpected life event or crisis such as illness or death of a family member, natural and human-induced emergencies, and other critical incidents.
