Over 160 scholars receive toolkits from TESDA

TESDA Regional Director Archie Grande informs scholars to use the toolkits to improve their status in life.

SAN MARIANO, Isabela – Over 160 scholars under TESDA’s Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) received their starter toolkits from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on July 17.

The said beneficiaries who are from the towns of San Mariano, Benito Soliven and Gamu finished their training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, Tailoring NC II and Electrical Maintenance NC II conducted by the TESDA-Isabela Provincial Training Center (IPTC) and the Isabela School of Arts and Trades (ISAT), two of the TESDA administered schools in the province.

TESDA Regional Director Archie A. Grande together with Isabela District II Representative Ed Christopher S. Go and Vice Mayor Dean Anthony G. Domalanta led the awarding of toolkits to the scholars.

RD Grande said that provision of toolkits to TESDA scholars seeks to promote employment particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service oriented activities. 

The TESDA Cagayan Valley head also added that the agency shall sustain its efforts to address the specific needs of the Isabeleños through appropriate skills training interventions.(MDCT/With reports from TESDA)
