2 gov't offices in Camiguin get safety seal certification

CAMIGUIN (PIA)--The Catarman Municipal Hall, and Municipal Fire Station are now Safety Seal Certified after being assessed by the Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Team of Catarman, July 5.

The Safety Seal Inspection and Certification Team of Catarman, headed by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Catarman Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Emily C. Popera, is composed of representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The Safety Seal Certification Program is in accordance with Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 87 s. 2020, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Department of Health (DOH)-DILG-Department of Tourism (DOT)-Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 21-01 s. 2021, and DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-053 s. 2021, which aims to promote the increase in compliance of private and public establishments to the minimum public health protocols.

To receive the Safety Seal, private and public establishments must pass eligibility requirements patterned on the minimum public health standard currently being implemented by the IATF and the national government.

The Safety Seal may be obtained at no cost to the establishment and shall be valid for six months from the date of issuance, except for those issued to tourism enterprises, which shall be valid for one year. The Safety Seal shall also be renewable subject to continued compliance with the eligibility requirements set by the JMC. (DILG-10/PIA-10/Camiguin)
