MANDALUYONG CITY -- Today, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO, Senator Richard J. Gordon has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gordon is in high spirits and showing no symptoms. As of press time, the Chairman is having his laboratory works at the Makati Medical Center.
The entire Philippine Red Cross organization is wishing the Chairman a full and speedy recovery and providing all necessary support. As the PRC Chief, Gordon is first frontliner among the organization's frontliners and will continue to work even during isolation. The public is assured that he is strong and working tirelessly as usual.
The PRC Chairman is also assuring the public that the Philippine Red Cross and all its services and programs will continue without a glitch. It is business as usual in the PRC.
PRC is identifying and contacting those with whom Gordon may have been in contact in the course of any professional activity in the past seven days. This is also one of his directives, to expedite the contact tracing process.
Any such individual will quarantine for 14 days from their last contact with the Chairman.
The physical area where the Chairman works at PRC has been closed to staff, delegates, and visitors while it is being cleaned and disinfected, in accordance with existing protocols. (Philippine Red Cross)
