TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, with the support of the Department of Labor and Employment, distributed P20,000 worth of individual Sari-sari Store starter kit package to selected 54 pandemic-affected beneficiaries
The Kabuhayan Program's distribution was held at the North Central Mindanao College Gymnasium in Maranding Lala, this province, by the Provincial Community Affairs Office (PCAO) and DOLE staff.
Lanao del Norte Second District Representative Abdullah 'Bobby' Dimakuta-Dimaporo, who initiated the DOLE Kabuhayan Program here in the province, expressed his gratitude to the DOLE and encouraged the beneficiaries to work hard to turn the challenges of the pandemic into a profitable opportunity.
The sari-sari store starter kit consists of six (6) half-sack rice, one (1) box of sardines, one (1) box of beef loaf, one (1) box of corned beef, one (1) case of bar sap, one (1) case of soap powder, one (1) case of biscuits, one (1) case of pancit canton, one (1) case of coffee, two (2) cases of C2, a weighing scale, and a calculator.
Thirty of the recipients were from the municipality of Lala, two (2) from Salvador, 18 from Sapad, two (2) from Tubod, and two (2) from Sultan Naga Dimaporo.
Beneficiaries extended their gratitude to DOLE, the provincial government, and Congressman Dimaporo for his support to Lanao del Norte constituents, especially those struggling to bring food to the table due to the pandemic.
"Daghang salamat DOLE ug sa provincial government kay gi hatagan mi nila higayon para mapa-lambo ang amoang panginabuhi (Thank you very much to DOLE and the provincial government for allowing us to improve our lives)," one of the beneficiaries said. (PIO-LDN)
