TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--To ensure the reproductive health needs of every woman in the province are served amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Population Office (PPO) and in partnership with the Commission on Population and Development X (POPCOM), recently conducted a family planning (FP) outreach activity in the municipalities of Kolambugan, Lala, Kapatagan and Tagoloan.
With the theme "Pamilyang Planado, Panalo", the PPO catered to women of reproductive age and provided them with FP services, one of which was the progestin-only subdermal implant (PSI).
"The caravan is one way of bringing the family planning services and commodities closer to the people. We advise couples and individuals to continue using a family planning method while maintaining their own and their loved one's general health and well-being during the pandemic," said Ananette Daniel of the PPO.
Couples and individuals were also advised to visit the health station nearest them to ask for FP information and services.
The PPO will continue on the delivery of family planning services from barangay to barangay for the Provincial Government believes that family planning must not be hampered by the restrictions and imposed lockdowns.
Governor Imelda 'Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo promotes equal access to family planning information and services for all women and couples. Thus, with the help of the POPCOM X, PPO, and the cooperation of the people, the objective of inculcating the value of education among children and the importance of planned parenthood among women and their partners will become achievable.
