DSWD inks pact with CDO, Gingoog LGUs for ECQ special ayuda

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 signs a Memorandum of Agreement with the two local government units placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for the implementation of the special ayuda, August 3.

The MOA will harmonize and fast-track the distribution of the relief assistance to the residents of Cagayan de Oro City and Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

“While we are praying that this COVID-19 will end, our partners in the national government in northern Mindanao are ensuring the provision of the basic needs of the low-income families during this ECQ,” said DSWD Field Office 10 Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga.

DSWD will transfer funds to the two cities, August 4 while the distribution of family food packs is ongoing.

Based on the Joint Memorandum Circular 2 series of 2021, the national government will give financial assistance of P1,000 per individual, with a maximum of P4,000 per family, to residents affected by the ECQ in northern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, DSWD Field Office 10 solicits the support of other national government agencies to help in the smooth implementation of the ECQ special ayuda.

As it is, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe, 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army Commander Major General Romeo Brawner, Jr represented by Col. Michelle B. Anayron Jr., and Police Regional Office 10 Director PBGen Rolando Anduyan pledged their support to DSWD Field Office 10 and the two cities in northern Mindanao.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier approved the release of P22.9 Billion to the ECQ areas, including the two cities in northern Mindanao.

Based on the profiled list of beneficiaries, Cagayan de Oro City has 191,956 family beneficiaries while Gingoog City has 53,000 families.

A total of 49,344 family food packs from the Field Offices of DSWD has been delivered to Field Office 10 for relief augmentation in Cagayan de Oro City and Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

Recently, Gingoog City received 10,000 food packs from the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) of DSWD Central Office. Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro City also received 10,000 food packs from DSWD Field Office 10.

DSWD Field Office 10 continuously maintains close coordination with its national counterparts, other field offices, and the affected LGUs to ensure immediate response and provision of the needed assistance of the affected families in ECQ areas. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)
