CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office-10 received raw materials in the form of canned tuna flakes, canned sardines, canned corned beef, and sachets of powdered cereal drink, from the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) of DSWD intended for the Enhanced Community Quarantines areas in northern Mindanao.
The raw materials, consist of 120,000 canned tuna flakes, 60,000 canned sardines, 120,000 canned corned beef, and 300,000 sachets of powdered cereal drink, will be able to produce 30,000 Family Food Packs (FFPs). The NRLMB also provided 30,000 cardboard boxes for each packed food item. A box of family food pack shall be able to sustain a family of five to six people for two to three days.
Each box contains four tins of canned tuna flakes, two tins of canned sardines, four tins of canned corned beef, five sachets of 3-in-1 instant coffee, five sachets of powdered cereal drink, and six kilos of NFA rice.
Pursuant to DSWD Administrative Order No. 1, series of 2019, or the Management Reorganization of the DSWD Central Office, NRLMB is assigned for managing relief goods (food and non-food items).
The distribution of family food packs is the core preparedness and response subsistence modality of the Philippine Government through DSWD Field Office-10.
With the full support of the other DSWD field offices and national counterparts, the DSWD-10 is continuously coordinating with the local government units in ensuring that prompt response and assistance will reach and be provided to those affected families under the ECQ areas. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)
