TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)-- The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN) through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Region X (DOLE-X) conducted a SPES Program and Career Guidance seminar on August 5 at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Hall, Pigcarangan, this municipality.

SPES or the Special Program for Employment of Students is DOLE's youth employment-bridging program which aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced or would-be displaced workers during summer and/or Christmas vacation or any time of the year to augment the family's income and ensure that beneficiaries can pursue their education.

Eighty-three (83) student beneficiaries in the province will benefit from this program, and the grantees will be assigned to various provincial and national government offices for 20 days. 

Provincial PESO Manager Evelyn A. Lopez said the deployment of the beneficiaries to their respective work assignments will be announced soon.

Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator, was also present during the event to express her heartfelt support to the students and wish them the best of luck. 

"The experience that you will gain while working in your respective office assignments will be vital as you enter the world of work, and this new learning opportunity will be a great advantage for you," she said. (PIO-LDN)
