DOST-7 funds Siquijor MSME furniture tech upgrading

Turnover of check from DOST-7 to Rosalin Furniture Shop for the acquisition of equipment for the firm under the project “Technology Upgrading of the Planing, Forming and Finishing Techniques of Rosalin Furniture for Efficiency and Product Quality” to enhance the product quality and increase productivity of Rosalin Furniture through upgrading of its furniture processing technology. The Department of Science and Technology in Region 7 (DOST-7) through Siquijor Provincial S&T Director Engr. Mario de la Pena turned over a check to Rosalin Furniture Shop for the acquisition of equipment for the firm as covered by the project, “Technology Upgrading of the Planing, Forming and Finishing Techniques of Rosalin Furniture for Efficiency and Product Quality.”

The turnover was done on July 12 at DOST Siquijor PSTC.

The check was received by the proprietor, Rosalin Alad-ad, with her witness

The fund is intended for the acquisition of efficient furniture woodworking equipment to enhance product quality and increase productivity through upgrading the furniture processing technology of Rosalin Furniture, which is located in Ponong, Siquijor, Siquijor. ,

If successful, the project will introduce efficient furniture wood working equipment to the firm, increase wooden furniture production and enhance product quality, enhance skills of furniture workers, reduce firms’ production reject from 15% to 5%, and increase gross income by 60% based on 2020 production.  (PR/Engr.
