Red Cross Bakuna Bus drives to UP Manila to vaccinate 300

MANDALUYONG CITY -- Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard Gordon ordered the deployment of the PRC Bakuna bus to UP Manila to conduct on-site vaccination at the school premises.

PRC targets to inoculate 300 healthcare professionals and their families. This is in recognition of UP Manila during the national pandemic response, to ensure the wellbeing of our future healthcare workers, and to protect the academe.

True to his word that “we should protect our healthcare workers and their families,” Gordon brought 300 vaccines to help protect UP Manila personnel from COVID 19.

UP Manila Chancellor Carmencita D. Padilla profusely thanked Gordon for recognizing the important role of UP Manila in the national response against COVID-19 and for ensuring that the campus is a safe haven for students.

With this activity, UP Manila hopes to inspire others to get vaccinated. Even the experts of UP Manila believe the science of vaccination with almost 100% of its personnel already vaccinated.

“Ilalapit natin ang mga bakuna sa ating mga frontliners na hindi pa nababakunahan. Isa sila sa mga pinaka-importanteng mabakunahan dahil sila ang mga taong araw-araw na humaharap at lumalaban sa COVID-19,” Gordon said.

The Department of Health reported a record-high 18,332 new cases last August 23, 2021. Gordon encourages and inspires everyone to be vaccinated as soon as possible to beat the invisible enemy. (Philippine Red Cross)
