MANDALAUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is serious in beating the pandemic and one of its weapons is its fleet of mobile vaccine clinics called the Bakuna Buses. PRC deployed two of its Bakuna Buses in Laguna this week to vaccinate residents belonging to the A1 to A4 category. As of 27 August 2021, PRC Laguna Chapter has vaccinated over 1,000 people all over the province.
PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon directed PRC to immediately deploy Bakuna Buses to different places in CALABARZON, a day after Victory Liner buses were turned and retrofitted into mobile vaccination clinics. The PRC Laguna Chapter, through the leadership of its Chapter Administrator Frank Sorromero, started driving these buses to far-flung communities to inoculate residents who were still unvaccinated.
So far, the PRC has already vaccinated 300 individuals in Paete, 500 in Siniloan, and 500 in Sta. Cruz, Laguna through these buses. The mobile vaccine clinics will continue to roam around the province to vaccinate more people in the coming days.
“Ang laban kontra COVID-19 ay dapat na natin pagtagumpayan, at magagawa lamang yun kung ang lahat ay bakunado na at ligtas lalo na sa panahon na kung saan tumataas ang mga kaso sa ating bansa,” Gordon said.
The PRC Laguna Chapter also participated in #TheHumanRace in celebration of World Humanitarian Day 2021 and provided ready-to-eat hot meals to 200 individuals including children, senior citizens, and the most vulnerable. (Philippine Red Cross)
