TAGUIG CITY -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have received over 76,000 scholarship applications online during its three-day National TVET Enrollment Day (NTED) held last August 25-27.
Initial data showed that 76,355 Filipinos nationwide submitted their online application for TESDA’s scholarship programs.
NTED is a nationwide event held simultaneously for Filipinos who want to get free tech-voc training through TESDA scholarships. They only need to follow the steps for application. Once submitted, the nearest TESDA district or provincial office will contact the applicants and will be assisted for enrollment at the appropriate training center.
TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said that the event was successful and encouraged Filipinos who want to acquire skills to avail its scholarship programs.
The scholarship programs, he said, are open to high school graduates 15 years old and above.
“Even if the NTED is done, we are still offering scholarship programs. They just need to visit our website and Facebook page for more information. This is free,” Lapeña reminded.
The event was done mostly via online. Some regional and provincial offices had a face-to-face setup, as allowed by respective quarantine classification.
Last August 25, TESDA celebrated both its 27th founding anniversary and the National Tech-Voc Day.
NTED was one of the highlights of TESDA’s week-long anniversary celebration. The theme for this year’s anniversary was "TESDA@27: Pagbangon, Pag-Asa at Pag-abante sa Bente Syete". (TESDA)
