TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)-- The Incident Management Team of the provincial government here inspected the municipal isolation units (MIUs) and barangay isolation units (BIUs) from 12 municipalities on August 24-25.
The 12 municipalities are Tubod, Kolambugan, Maigo, Bacolod, Kauswagan, Linamon, Baroy, Lala, Kapatagan, Sapad, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and Magsaysay.
IMT coordinated with the rural health units of the municipalities to evaluate the MIUs and BIUs and determine what was lacking and what needs to be done to improve the quarantine facilities and be more conducive in preventing the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

With the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte recognizes the key role of local government units (LGUs) in the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and containment of COVID-19 outbreaks at the local level.
The provincial government also noted the importance of having functional isolation units in the municipalities just in case the COVID-19 surge turns worse and hospitals and main isolation units will be jampacked with symptomatic and asymptomatic patients.
Provincial Governor Imelda 'Angging' Quibranza-Dimaporo, is keen on intensifying the readiness and mitigation of the province to the virus. Until the pandemic is over, the provincial government will continue in providing infrastructure, livelihood, and health support to provide the people. (PIO-LDN)
