TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN) and Provincial Police Office (PPO) facilitated on August 25 the settlement of a family feud or rido which lasted for more than two decades.
The families of Alibaser A. Alilang and Muslimen Macadatar peacefully ended their dispute in a ceremonies held at headquarters of Camp Major Eduardo J. Gallego, Pigcarangan in Tubod municipality.
Provincial Consultant of Rido/Conflict Aleem Noska Abdulrahman and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board member and Chairman on Committee on Family Feud Settlement Acmad Taha officiated the said settlement.
The event would not be possible without the help of the PGLDNs esteemed partners namely LDN PPO led by Provincial Director PCOL Isaias A. Bacurnay Jr., represented by PLtCol. Mauro P. Guray, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade led by Brigade Commander Col. Rey B. Alemania, and Nunungan Municipal Mayor Marcos M. Mamay.
Also present to witness the settlement were Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Allan J. Lim, Picong, Lanao del Sur former Mayor Alinader Balindong, Pualas, Lanao del Sur former Mayor Engr. Cabib A. Tanog, Muslim elders, municipal and barangay officials of Nunungan municipality, among others.
Governor Imelda 'Angging' Quibranza-Dimaporo is pleased that finally, after more than 2 decades of dispute, the two families agreed to put an end to their misunderstanding by signing the Covenant of Peace and Reconciliation and praying hand in hand holding the Holy Qur'an.
PGLDN together with the Congressional District Offices of 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah 'Bobby' Dimakuta Dimaporo, earnestly supports the activities and programs that will strengthen the unity, peace, and development in the province.
