MANILA -- Some 2,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines donated by the Brunei government to the Philippines arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 at around 2:00 p.m. today.
According to NTF against COVID-19 special adviser Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, these doses have been allocated for the inoculation of the general population.
Herbosa expressed his gratitude to the government of Brunei on behalf of the Philippines for the vaccine donation.
Aside from Brunei, countries such as the United States, China, and Japan are expected to continue donating COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines.
The latest vaccine shipment was welcomed by NTF medical consultant Dr. Ma. Paz Corrales, Brunei Ambassador Johariah Wahab, Foreign Affairs Assistant Sec. Christopher Montero, and Department of Health Director Dr. Joel Buenaventura.
As of October 20, a total of 91,548,620 COVID-19 vaccine doses from various manufacturers have arrived in the Philippines. (National Task Force against COVID-19)
