CAMIGUIN (PIA)--Aside from achieving improved connectivity and mobility for Northern Mindanao, economic, tourism and employment opportunities are also seen with the inauguration of the upgraded Camiguin Airport, October 22 to be led by Transportation Secretary Art Tugade.
Tugade and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Jim Sydiongco will lead the inauguration ceremonies of the airport's improved and expanded Passenger Terminal Building (PTB).
The airport's expanded PTB can now serve at least 200 passengers from its previous passenger holding capacity of 66 passengers. Secretary Tugade will also inaugurate other completed development projects, including the airport’s administration building, fire station building, and the completed runway slope.
Camiguin welcomes the operation of its improved and rehabilitated gateway as it is also set to welcome tourists on October 25. Being the province's lone airport, Camiguin Airport is expected to offer a comfortable and convenient travel experience for passengers, while ensuring an equitable and inclusive growth in the areas of employment, trade, and investments in both the province and in the entire northern Mindanao region.
