MANDALUYONG CITY -- As the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to help ensure the protection of every Filipino against COVID-19, the humanitarian organization vaccinated close to 1100 individuals on Friday, October 23, 2021.
Three Bakuna Centers in operation last October 23 vaccinated more than 900 individuals. In General Santos City, The PRC vaccinated over 407 individuals in the Mega Vaccination Site in Veranza. PRC volunteers and staff also vaccinated 230 individuals in Barangay Angustia Nabua, Camarines Sur, and over 282 individuals in Ever Gotesco Mall in Quezon City.
In Cebu, one of the PRC's Bakuna Buses vaccinated over 180 individuals in Brgy. Jaclupan, Talisay.
"Hindi pa tapos ang laban natin kontra COVID-19. Inaanyayahan ko ag lahat na magpabakuna dahil ito ang pinakamabisang panlaban kontra sa virus. Libre lang ang magpabakuna at maililigtas natin hindi lamang ang ating sarili, pati na rin ang mahal natin sa buhay, " PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.
Despite the decrease in cases, Sen. Dick Gordon emphasized that it should not be a reason to lower our guard as this virus can spread and affect the people around us.
As of October 18, 2021, the PRC has 24 Bakuna Centers and 16 Bakuna Buses in operation and has vaccinated 349,797 individuals.
