TUBOD, Lanao del Norte -- In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWDO) led the distribution of five kilos of rice and milk to a total of 1,259 vaccinated senior citizens in the municipality of Kolambugan.

This program is also intended to urge other unvaccinated individuals in the municipality to get their jab of the vaccine for additional protection from the coronavirus disease 2019 (CoVid 2019) and the rising threat of other variants.

"Dako among pasalamat kay Governor Angging kay wala mi nila pasagda-i hilabina karong pandemya. Busa, motabang mi og awhag sa among kauban na mga senior na magpa bakuna para ma proteksyonan ta sa COVID," one of the recipient elderly said.

[We are very grateful to Governor Angging because they did not let us down especially in this pandemic. Therefore, we will help encourage our fellow senior citizens to get vaccinated so that we can be protected from COVID.]

To avoid crowding in the distribution site, only the senior citizen barangay presidents were present to claim their goods. (PIO-LDN)
