GUINSILIBAN, Camiguin (PIA)--Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Camiguin Provincial Field Office (Cam PFO) OIC-Chief Arlyn Z. Bael together with the Local Government of Guinsiliban officials turned over some 21 individual livelihood projects, October 13 at North Poblacion, Guinsiliban, here.
Bael said the financial assistance is under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) with its Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) Hubangon Fisherfolk Association (HUFIA) covered P230,000 total worth of projects, like laundry services (2 beneficiaries); fish vending (5); native chicken production (8); poultry laying production (1); home furniture making (1); homemade cake and pastries making (1); catering services (1); events and party decorations (1); and manicure/pedicure starter kit (1).
Guinsiliban Mayor Helenio N. Abecia told the beneficiaries the importance of the livelihood assistance, “The DOLE assistance is for you to have an additional capital on your existing livelihoods that will help you earn extra income if you give value to it. Remember, not all people here in our municipality are given the chance or opportunity to have this assistance, so you as a beneficiary should preserve and develop it well by giving your best through hard work and good efforts with your respective projects.”
Moreover, Bael emphasized the moral obligation and responsibilities of the beneficiaries, “Every improvement and success starts within, therefore every one of you here has an important role in your municipality for this livelihood support is not only to augment your financial activities but also to increase the entrepreneurial economic sector through developing and providing the people of Guinsiliban their needs and consumption within your community.”
For her part, beneficiary Josephine Sabuero expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to be one of the allocated beneficiary, “Salamat kaayo sa DOLE ug kang Mayor Abecia nga naapil ko aning hinabang. Dako gyud kayo ni nga tabang sa akoa kay dli nako magmano-mano sa akong paglabada, dili na pud magsakit akong kamot sa paglabada ug daghan kay naa na ko'y washing machine, mao nga akong dakong pasalamat.”

This is a big help to me for I will not manually hand wash the clothes for my laundry services, which has given me hand aches especially when there are bigger loads of laundry, for I already have a washing machine, which is of my great gratitude)
The DILEEP is an umbrella program of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program and the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). It contributes to poverty reduction and reduces the vulnerability of risks of the poor, especially the child laborers, and marginalized workers either through transitional emergency employment, and promotion of livelihood and entrepreneurship.
