PhilHealth-10 launches virtual front desk

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--PhilHealth Regional Office 10 led by Regional Vice President Delio Aseron II officially launched PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk (PVFD), a public assistance desk for PhilHealth frontline services, November 22 via zoom.

With the current pandemic restrictions limiting movement and access to frontline services, PhilHealth saw the need to launch PVFD, which is a web-based system that can be accessed by clients using a computer or mobile device that is connected to the internet. As it is web-based, clients may submit a transaction 24/7, wherever and whenever they need it.

Virtual Frontliners or Virtual Assistants or VAs will be assigned to facilitate the online transactions made by clients within the official business hours of PhilHealth.

Frontline services offered include contributions, accreditation, benefits, inquiries, and other membership related transactions. It also includes a face-to-face transaction using a virtual platform via appointment basis such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Messenger.

“The PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk is a key project that is well-timed and necessary as we continue to battle the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and adapt to the thing called 'new normal.' With this project, members and other clients of PhilHealth do not need to personally visit the office just to inquire or transact with the nearest  Local Health Insurance Offices as they will be assisted virtually by money PhilHealth personnel via the virtual front desk,” Aseron said.

The PVFD serves as an alternative touchpoint for clients to avail of PhilHealth’s frontline services, in addition to the physical PhilHealth offices, accredited providers, quad-media platforms, and other existing client touchpoint options.

The PVFD is a Capstone Project of PhilHealth Region 10’s Field Operations Division Chief Mae Dizon, a scholar of the Development Academy of the Philippines-Public Management Development Program.

"As PhilHealth works toward achieving universal health coverage, we are committed to continually improve our services for the benefit of all Filipinos. The PhilHealth Virtual Front Desk is just one of the many innovations that we have deployed to ensure the achievement of our vision: “Bawat Filipino, miyembro; Bawat Miyembro, protektado; Kalusugan ng lahat, segurado,” Aseron added.
