PANTAR, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Lanao del Norte distributed 400 ready-to-lay (RTL) ducks and 40 male ducks to 20 local farmers of Panatar, November 10.

This Itik Pinoy distribution program of the PVO is taken under the 5% GAD project, aiming to provide livelihood and nutritional requirements to households with undernourished children.

Each of the 20 validated farmers is entitled to 22 ducks (20 females and 2 males), a sack of feeds, and an incubator.

Provincial Veterinarian Fritzie Provido said that the provincial government would assist in developing and marketing the duck eggs.

"The distribution of the RTL ducks was conceptualized to cushion the economic impact and augment food supply and income during the pandemic among residents in the province whose main source of family fund was farming," Provido said. (PIO-LDN/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
