CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-10 is ready to celebrate the 2021 National Science and Technology Week by reverberating the 2020 first ever virtual celebration of Science and Technology (S&T) Week of DOST.
Even with people movement restriction due to different community quarantine classifications, anyone can still view and learn the different S&T endeavors of DOST through various online platforms.
This year, the Department of Science and Technology Region-10 will hold its second virtual celebration of the National Science & Technology Week sa Amihanang Mindanao from October 26-28, 2021.
With the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon," DOST 10 will showcase various significant scientific and technological endeavor.
Among the anticipated activities during the celebration are the virtual S&T exhibits of the latest technology with contribution to national development.
Virtual fora and webinars on livelihood and business, human resource development, health, the get-to-know the Hydrometeorological and Geological Hazard, among others will be via Zoom application but with limited slots.
Interactive Facebook and Youtube live streaming will also be available for interested participants that could not be accommodated in the Zoom application.
This 2021 regional celebration is anchored on the National Science and Technology Week through proclamation No. 780 of 2019 that aims to recognize the significant contribution of Science and Technology in the development of the country.
DOST 10 under the leadership of Dir. Alfonso P. Alamban believes in using the online platform to stage NSTW celebration sa Amihanang Mindanao as one of the strategic avenues to promote S&T interaction, linkages, and collaboration among public and private sectors towards a sustainable and resilient nation amidst the pandemic.
