MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) provided ready-to-eat meals to 235 individuals at Matnog Port, Sorsogon.
PRC Sorsogon Chapter also sets up a welfare desk, medical station, and child-friendly-space activities for the stranded individuals last December 15, 2021.
PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon instructed all local chapters to prepare and assist the most vulnerable affected by Typhoon Odette (international name Rai).
In response to Typhoon Odette, Chairman Gordon deployed the PRC's hot meals on wheels to serve 400 individuals in Sta Clara Terminal, Northern Samar, 1,235 individuals at St Theresa College Covered Court, Surigao del Sur, and 282 individuals in Culasi Roxas City, Capiz.
"The Philippine Red Cross and all local chapters nationwide are prepared to respond and serve the most vulnerable. nakahanda na ang aming rescue equipment, rescue vehicles, at naka-alert ang lahat ng staff at volunteers nationwide upang masiguardo na maaaksyonan agad kapag kinailangan ng tulong," Sen.
