Ilonggo typhoon victims to get NHA financial aid

ILOILO CITY, (PIA) -- Iloilo province residents, whose houses were totally wrecked during the onslaught of typhoon Odette, will soon get financial assistance from the National Housing Authority (NHA).

NHA district manager Fe Jamoyot recently turned over to Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. a check amounting to P20-million under its Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).

In a Capitol press release, Gov. Defensor previously met with the NHA personnel, Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 6, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to discuss matters on the distribution of the financial aid to the qualified beneficiaries.

Based on PDRRMO’s data, around 1,800 totally damaged houses were noted in the province due to typhoon Odette.  Meanwhile, 44,000 were partially damaged houses.

For her part, Jamoyot assured that the NHA will release funds for partially damaged houses which will be used to buy housing materials that will be distributed to the recipients. (AAL/LML/PIA-6/Iloilo Capitol press release)
