MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon (PIA)—The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) unfolded another symbolic milestone as it inaugurated Monday the spacious building of its First District Engineering Office (1st DEO) in Malaybalay, the province’s capital city.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, DPWH-X Regional Director Zenaida T. Tan said the construction of its expansive three-storey office building responds to the country's rapid development and the need for decent workplaces.
“I'd like to acknowledge and thank the personnel and the teams who played various roles in constructing this facility that will boost employees’ morale and will provide a channel for better communication,” she said.
Emphasizing her optimism for a strong start to the year 2022, the lady director said “behind this good working environment is the improved quality in the delivery of services to our clients.”
The newly completed modern building, she added, will house all offices, namely the Planning and Design, Construction, Maintenance, Administrative, Finance, and the Office of the District Engineer and Assistant Engineers, which includes the Procurement Unit, Public Information Staff, and Information & Communication Technology Unit.
District Engr. Flordelis Enriquez and Asst. District Engr. Octavius Cesar Azura of Bukidnon 1st DEO together with DPWH-X key officials—led by Regional Director Zenaida Tan—capped the event with the unveiling of the project marker that would inspire personnel to work with dedication to public service.
