The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Siquijor Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) handed out enhanced nutribuns to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 4Ps beneficiaries in barangays Cang-asa, Cantabon, Tambisan of Siquijor, Siquijor on Jan. 14 and 17, respectively.
DOST Siquijor Provincial Director Engr. Mario de la Peña decided to include other communities as beneficiaries except for those assisted by his office.
He said: "With the recommendation from MSWDO-Siquijor, I think it is also conscientious to extend a little help to people who need after (Typhoon) Odette even outside the coverage of DOST’s donation."
Two grantees of 4PS were thankful that at least “there is a government agency that has made (an) effort to make us feel that we are not forgotten. DOST team’s presence in our barangays speaks strongly about real service.”
Essentially, this points to a direction that a livelihood association or a poor community can be a recipient of a convergence of services from the different government agencies. (PR/Jose Aldous Arbon II, DOST Siquijor PSTC-IO)
